Who can be a registered agent in Idaho?

Individuals must be Idaho residents, 18 or older, with a real street address (no PO boxes, no commercial mailboxes). Business entities must be registered with the Idaho Secretary of State. Also worth knowing: Idaho follows the Model Registered Agents Act and distinguishes between commercial agents (us — serving multiple clients) and noncommercial agents (someone serving just their own entity).

Can my LLC be its own registered agent?

Nope. Idaho prohibits self-appointment. You as a person can serve as agent for your LLC, but the LLC itself cannot be its own agent.

Is there a fee to change my registered agent in Idaho?

If you file online through the SOSBiz system — zero. Free. Paper filing costs $20. There's no reason not to file online.

What's the deal with Idaho's annual report?

It's required every year, due by the end of your formation anniversary month. The filing fee is $0 — Idaho doesn't charge anything. But here's the catch: if you don't file, Idaho will dissolve your entity. No warning fees, no grace period. File or get dissolved.

How fast do you send me my documents?

Same business day. Something arrives at our office in the morning, you have a scanned copy in your inbox that same day. It also goes into your online portal for permanent storage.

Does this work if my business is somewhere else in Idaho?

Absolutely. Idaho doesn't require your registered agent to be in the same city as your business. Our Idaho office address works for entities anywhere in the state — Coeur d'Alene, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, wherever.

What about out-of-state businesses operating in Idaho?

If you're a foreign-qualified entity (formed in another state, registered to do business in Idaho), you still need an Idaho registered agent. We serve foreign entities at the same $99/year rate.

Can I use your address as my business address?

Our address is specifically for registered agent purposes — accepting legal and government documents on your behalf. It's not a virtual office or general mailing address.

Will you forward personal or business mail sent to my Idaho address?

Our Idaho office is not a general mail receiving facility. It is a registered agent address, and its function is limited to receiving legal and government documents for your business.

That includes service of process, lawsuits, subpoenas, Secretary of State correspondence, tax communications, and compliance reminders.

Packages, Google Maps verification postcards, Amazon verification letters, and third-party verification mailings are all refused. General mail beyond three items per year is outside our scope.

If a few stray general letters arrive at your registered agent address in a given year (up to three), we will forward them as a courtesy.
